Professional achievements
Founded a scientific school of economic geography in the Far East.
Author of the theory of spatial production systems.
Developed the theory of the geography of industry, the problems of the location of the economy and the development of the Far Eastern regions of Russia.
Worked out the problems of rational use of natural resources, the assessment of the natural resource potential of the territory and the ecological and economic characteristics of industrial centers.
Systematized the idea of territorial socio-economic systems and territorial structures of natural resources management.
